Steady progression!

I haven't updated this thing in like 5 days so I figured I would get on here and give a quick update.

I just got done doing my cardio workout for today and had a shower, I feel great.  I lost 4 pounds so far as of this past Saturday, I'll be weighing myself every Saturday and taking new pictures on that day as well.  I'm still sore everyday but not near as sore as I was the first 3-4 days of the program.

I've been drinking tons of water, that's all I do it seems like.  Other than some fat free milk here and there with breakfast or with a protein bar.

I've got to get some homework done so I'll probably update again in a couple days.

P90X is officially tearing me apart, but I like it.

Just thought I would post a little update on here.  I just got finished with day 3 of P90X which was an ab workout and a shoulders and arms workout.  My arms were already super sore from Monday so now they feel like I have knives in them.  My triceps are whats killing me, they are the most painful.

I haven't really been sticking to the P90X nutrition guide, I've basically been doing my own thing.  A LOT of protein mixed with plenty of fruits, and mainly sticking to low calorie foods.  I ate 2 bananas today which was really nice, bananas normally make my stomach upset for some reason but they didn't do anything to me today.

Surprisingly I've been able to stay away from sodas pretty easily.  I drink water all day, and sometimes have orange juice with breakfast.

That's pretty much all there is to say, I have to do yoga tomorrow.  I hear that's one of the hardest workouts other than plyometrics.

I'm sooo sore!

I did my first workout this morning which consisted of a 60 minute chest & back workout and a 10 minute ab workout.  My body was ready to give up about 45 minutes into it but I tried to keep going as much as I could.  One of the workouts was elevated push ups which is where you put your feet up on a chair with your hands on the floor, and do push ups like that and I couldn't even do one of those.  I ended up just falling right onto the floor when I tried to go down.  That will improve over time though, maybe next week I will be able to do a couple of those.

I've been really good with my food today.  I'm supposed to eat 1800 calories a day but I don't think I've eaten that much but I'm probably close to it.  I can already tell a difference in my energy level so that's really nice.  I came home from work at about 9am, ate breakfast, did my workout, then went to sleep.  I only slept for 2.5 hours before going to class and that's less than I normally get but I'm not near as tired as I would normally be.

I weighed myself yesterday and took my before pictures.  My starting weight is 234 lbs, that's kind of embarrassing...I can't believe I've let myself get into this kind of shape.  P90X is definitely going to correct this problem for me, and I'm really happy that I bought this program.

I will probably update again in a day or two.

P90X Day 1 Is Tomorrow!

I'm starting P90X tomorrow, and I'm pretty excited about it.  I know it's going to be really hard at first but I'm going to put 100% into this so I can get the best results possible.  I've already got a couple 15 pound weights to do the workouts with, as well as a yoga mat and a pull up bar.  I bought a scale so I could keep track of my weight, but it wasn't working properly so I returned it.  It would give me 20 pound weight differences each time I weighed myself.

Today I went to a few places with Angelica and Gerardo and I bought some supplements to use with my program.  I bought some 100% whey protein powder to make protein shakes (chocolate flavored).  This stuff gives me 25g of protein per serving and I will be drinking one of these per day.  I also bought some protein bars to be eaten as a snack once per day with my protein shake, which adds another 20g of protein.  I ended up buying some Vitamin B12 pills which will boost my metabolism.

We then went to Meijer where I bought 3 of these MET-Rx protein drinks just to try out.  They give 51g of protein in one of these cans, while only having 1g of fat and 240 calories.  It says they are vanilla flavored and I'm expecting them to be really gross.

I've been looking online at all these people who get amazing results from P90X and it's really inspiring.  This guy posted on the P90X message boards with before and after photos showing he started P90X at 370 lbs and lost 147 lbs and is decent shape now.

My first workout tomorrow consists of a chest & back workout followed by an ab workout.  These first couple of weeks are going to be rough but I know I can do it.  I'll update later with my starting weight.
